Contrast and precision define the new OMEGA Speedmaster Moonwatch in black and white
By SENATUS Magazine | 14 January 2026

Timeless horology meets a sharp new aesthetic as 2026 begins with a fresh interpretation of a legendary chronograph. The latest additions to the collection reinvent the classic look through an inverted dial configuration that prioritizes both legibility and a striking reversed visual. These models are built with the essential step dial, constructed using a sophisticated double plate system.

The top plate features a polished black surface with a varnished and lacquered finish to achieve a superior sheen. This dark expanse is punctuated by rhodium-plated subdial frames, while the base layer of the subdials is produced in a contrasting white. Every detail is considered, with white minute tracks transferred onto the main dial and black tracks appearing on the subdials.

Collectors can choose between two distinct 42 mm versions to suit their personal style. One model is crafted in classic stainless steel, featuring rhodium-plated hands and hour markers. The second option is rendered in 18K Moonshine Gold, a long-lasting yellow gold alloy developed by the brand. This gold version carries the theme further with hands and markers crafted from the same precious metal.

A black ceramic bezel ring encircles the dial, filled with a tachymeter scale in white enamel. Protecting the face is a box-form scratch-resistant sapphire crystal that has been treated for anti-reflection. For a secure and comfortable fit, the watches are paired with polished-brushed bracelets that feature a patented comfort release adjustment system.

Beneath the surface, these timepieces are powered by the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861. This movement represents the advanced evolution of the machinery trusted by NASA astronauts during lunar missions. Such mechanical integrity ensures the highest standards of precision and magnetic resistance within the Swiss industry.

The performance of these chronometers is backed by a five-year warranty and official Master Chronometer certification. Whether in steel or gold, the inverted design offers a sophisticated update to a silhouette that has long been a staple of precision timekeeping.
