Zenith honors a historic legacy with the G.F.J. in yellow gold - Watches & Wonders 2026 #WatchesandWonders2026
By SENATUS Editor | 14 April 2026

The pursuit of absolute precision has entered a luminous new chapter with the arrival of the Zenith G.F.J. in yellow gold. Unveiled on April 14, 2026, this limited edition of 161 pieces serves as a focused expression of a chronometric culture that has spanned over 160 years. Named after the initials of founder Georges Favre-Jacot, the collection is a statement of intent, a return to the very foundations of precision watchmaking.

The 39.5mm case, sculpted in 18 ct yellow gold, radiates a warm and contemporary presence on the wrist. Its slender proportions, stepped bezel, and curved lugs preserve the refined elegance of 1950s chronometers. Beneath the sapphire box crystal, the dial reveals a rich interplay of textures, anchored by a central disc in bloodstone. Because of the natural veining of the jasper, no two dials in this series are identical.

At the heart of this timepiece beats the legendary Calibre 135, the most awarded observatory movement in history. Re-engineered for the modern era, the hand-wound movement preserves its distinctive architecture while integrating technical solutions that enhance reliability. The signature oversized balance wheel and double arrow-shaped regulator allow for exceptionally fine adjustments, ensuring the watch is regulated to within two seconds per day.

A peripheral guilloché sector, inspired by the brick façade of the Zenith Manufacture in Le Locle, encircles the dial as a tribute to the brand's vertically integrated vision. Yellow gold applied markers and finely faceted hands complete the architectural composition, balancing mineral depth with precision. An oversized small seconds counter at 6 o'clock, rendered in mother-of-pearl, punctuates the face with a delicate tonal contrast.

Visible through the sapphire caseback, the movement reveals a dark ruthenium finish accented by yellow gold engravings. The aesthetic returns to classical codes with broad Côte de Genève and refined hand-chamfering. Each timepiece is delivered with a selection of straps, including beige nubuck alligator and green alligator leather, allowing the wearer to adapt this chronometric jewel to any setting
