The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 40 enters a luminous new chapter with the introduction of 18 ct Jubilee Gold, a brand-new alloy entirely developed and produced in-house by Rolex.

This innovative material offers more than a simple color; it creates a gentle shine and a unique effect that radiates with tones of tender yellow, warm grey, and soft pink. The creation of this alloy illustrates the brand's profound innovation capability and its technical mastery in the field of precious metals.

The prestige of this timepiece is further elevated by the selection of light green aventurine for its dial. This specific hue was chosen to complement the gilded effect of the Jubilee Gold case and bracelet, resulting in a mastered harmony of light and color.

Every element of the watch, from the casting of the gold alloys to the machining and finishing of the movement, is carried out at the brand's own sites in Switzerland, ensuring an unrivalled reputation for quality and expertise.

Technical excellence remains a cornerstone of this new iteration. The movement of the Day-Date 40 is certified and tested in-house for precision, performance, and reliability. In 2026, Rolex has further strengthened its Superlative Chronometer certification by implementing three additional testing criteria: resistance to magnetism, reliability, and sustainability. These new standards are applied during the design and manufacturing stages, supplementing existing criteria for precision, waterproofness, self-winding, and power reserve.

Symbolized by the iconic green seal, the Superlative Chronometer certification is strictly controlled by independent Swiss entities and is based on the brand's seven pillars of watchmaking excellence. This rigorous process guarantees excellent performance on the wrist, embodying the philosophy of perpetual excellence instilled by founder Hans Wilsdorf. The Day-Date 40 stands as a testament to this ethos, combining materials science and dial-making artistry to shape the watchmaking emotions of tomorrow.

Beyond its aesthetic and technical achievements, the watch represents a milestone in a story that began in 1926 with the original waterproof Oyster. One hundred years later, Rolex continues to open up new realms of possibility through visionary innovations and skills fully mastered in-house. The Day-Date 40 in Jubilee Gold ushers in this new era of achievement, immortalizing dreams and celebrating a century of horological accomplishments.
