The Carrera Astronomer distills the brand’s pioneering legacy, from John Glenn’s Heuer stopwatch circling Earth in 1962, to today’s avant-garde vision of lunar timekeeping. Anchored by the new Calibre 7 with a 50-hour power reserve, it reimagines the moonphase complication with striking clarity. At six o’clock, a rotating disc illustrates seven phases of the moon in crisp detail, advancing each night in perfect celestial rhythm. Far from an abstract gesture, this is scientific fidelity rendered with elegance.
The first model, a stainless-steel edition, celebrates clarity and bold contrast. Its silver dial is encircled by a black flange, framing a black moonphase disc that recalls the vast stillness of outer space. Subtle grey detailing adds depth and motion, while rhodium-plated hands, coated with white Super-LumiNova®, ensure exceptional legibility in all light conditions.
