Dior Unveils La D De Dior Buisson Couture, A Garden Of Precious Stones
In 2023, Victoire de Castellane unveiled Les Jardins de la Couture, a High Jewellery collection that reimagined nature as embroidered bouquets of “couture bushes.” From this enchanting vision blooms a new chapter: the La D de Dior Buisson Couture, a timepiece where watchmaking and jewellery entwine in a lush celebration of color, texture, and light.
Inspired by Monsieur Dior’s lifelong devotion to gardens and flowers, the creation is a tapestry of sensuality and refinement. Diamonds, pink sapphires in luminous gradations, and delicate tsavorites—cut in brilliant, pear, oval, and marquise forms—compose a dial as opulent as a blooming garden, its density achieved through invisible settings that conceal the metal beneath. Every petal-like stone is meticulously chosen for hue and shape, each bush distinguished by a harmony of vivid pinks, tender greens, and the eternal sparkle of white diamonds.
The artistry extends beyond the dial: the crown, caseback, and buckle are gem-set with equal precision, requiring over 480 hours of craftsmanship, including 150 devoted to the hand-setting of 1,088 stones. The golden hands, offset at 3 o’clock, nearly vanish into the jewelled abundance, heightening the illusion of a living garden.
More than a watch, the La D de Dior Buisson Couture is a feat of technical savoir-faire and an ode to the poetry of nature—an haute joaillerie masterpiece where time itself blossoms into art.
