Loewe donates to projects in iraca artisan communities
By SENATUS Editor | 8 May 2023

Loewe's iraca baskets are handcrafted from the iraca palm leaf, which is cultivated, harvested, and sun-dried in Colombia.

Woven by craftswomen from the NGO Corporación Oficio y Arte, an artisanal tradition that enables them to be financially independent, the basket is then combined with LOEWE’s leather savoir-faire at our ateliers in Spain.

For every Iraca basket and LOEWE Font Tote sold, LOEWE will donate 15 euros towards projects for the local communities who hand make them. The donation will help to create a university scholarship program for the children of the artisans in Nariño, Colombia and build a craft training school in Antananarivo, Madagascar.
