Bouchra Jarrar Awarded Official Haute Couture Apellation
By SENATUS News | 19 December 2013

The Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, French fashion’s governing body, has promoted Bouchra Jarrar from guest member to the official haute couture appellation. The Paris-based launched her signature label in 2010 during couture week in Paris.

There are now 15 fashion houses with haute couture appellation, including established maisons like Christian Dior and Chanel, as well as relative newcomers like Alexis Mabille; six correspondent members, including Giorgio Armani and Azzedine Alaïa, and seven guest members, including the newest iteration of Schiaparelli.

Ralph & Russo had also become the first British label in almost a century to gain entry to fashion’s most exclusive establishment.
